Popular holiday destinations in Antalya: The Old Town (Kaleiçi)

The old city of Antalya, called Kaleiçi, is a labyrinth of pedestrian or shopping streets, and Kaleiçi is undoubtedly one of the major attractions to see in Antalya. It’s the city’s tourist center, with numerous hotels, restaurants, shops, and a bazaar.

The historic center is built on a rocky outcrop on the side of a cliff, below which is an old port, now rehabilitated and transformed into a modern marina. Here you can rent a boat to go to the Duden waterfalls.

In the historic center, you can discover:

  • The ancient Ottoman houses that adorn its pedestrian streets Hıdırlık: This tower was probably built in the 2nd century to serve as a lighthouse for ships approaching the coast.

In Antalya, just 70 meters from Konyaaltı beach, there is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It’s one of the most exciting attractions in the city and is an excellent destination if you’re traveling with children or teenagers.

In the Antalya Aquarium, you can visit about 40 themed tanks that house a great diversity of fish and marine species. Here are also some of the most extensive aquarium tunnels globally, with a length of 131 meters and a width of 3 meters.

Beaches To See in Antalya
